New Zealand

Welcome to my New Zealand Collection

I am pleased to have the opportunity to present my New Zealand collection of pendants that are inspired by our travels and the photographs we have taken.  Each pendant is linked to a particular photograph to provide both a visual and tactile representation of the memory of our visit.

‘Punakaiki Rocks’ Pendant

This unique pendant is inspired by my visit to Punakaiki Rocks in New Zealand when the blowholes were working. The subtle gold/orange dichroic glass sends sparkles in the changing light. Enhance your beauty and style and wear this as an accent to a plain top, or have it stand out on a green sweater. There is an antique gold bail with an interchangeable clasp to give versatility in which necklace you match it with. A second trip through the microwave kiln resulted in a sweet round pendant that is perfect for any gift for a friend or bridesmaid.

‘Turquoise Sea’ pendant and necklace

Reminiscent of the turquoise sea in this harbour in New Zealand, this pendant has hints of the background hills over the shimmering water. The strip of shiny blue dichroic glass means this statement necklace and pendant will complement any outfit. The pendant is joined to the extra long necklace with an interchangeable antique silver toggle clasp to accessorize and enhance any outfit. The semi-precious gemstone beads accentuate the fused glass pendant and would make a great gift for that special woman in your life. Jasper is the birthstone for October and sparks a feeling of innocence and purity.

‘Lake Tekapo Blues’ pendant & necklace
With subtle shades of blue and grey dichroic glass, this pendant is inspired by my visit to Lake Tekapo in New Zealand. The rocks in the foreground blend into the lake and sky. Wear this outside and see the true depths of the blues. The pendant was double fired in a microwave kiln to reach this perfect round shape. It has an interchangeable gunmetal clasp in case there is another necklace you want to pair it with. This Black Onyx semi-precious gemstone necklace includes blue sodalite beads to complement the blue in the pendant. Sodalite beads are meant to spark a feeling of calm and serenity. Celebrate the fashion sense of a loved one or enhance your own style with this beautiful and functional necklace and pendant set.

‘Pink Nectar’ pendant SOLD
This dichroic glass round pendant has some blue/pink sparkly dichroic colours as well as some grey shading to black. The dichroic glass is fused in a microwave kiln on a pink background with a clear glass top. It is in a unique design with a gunmetal leaf bail. The inspiration for this pendant is a Bumblebee resting on a pink flower. Wear this one of a kind pendant for any occasion, it is great for a subtle statement at work.

‘Stand Out Red’ pendant SOLD
Stand out in a crowd with this red overlay dichroic glass pendant. After two fusing in the microwave kiln, this pendant shows well in sunlight where the multi-colours shimmer in the sun. Matching this pendant to a memory of a picnic table in New Zealand makes the piece a memorable piece of art jewelry the you can wear.

‘Mountain Snow’ pendant  SOLD
The inspiration for this pendant was my visit to Queenstown and Glenorchy in the South Island of New Zealand. This is Lord of the Rings Isengard country. This was our first visit here in the winter and there was lots of snow on the mountains, surrounded by lake and sky. The black background has a middle layer of blue and silver dichroic glass with a top layer of clear glass. These layers give different colours and depth depending on the light.

‘Orchid Peace’ pendant & necklace SOLD
The inspiration for this pendant was my visit to the Christchurch Botanic Garden in New Zealand. I photograph flowers and plants that catch my eye, especially if they have a bee on them. The red translucent background has a middle layer of pink glass and then a top layer of dichroic glass. These layers give different colours and depth depending on the light. I then matched these colours with Red and Pink Jasper beads.
