Welcome to my Wildlife Collection

‘Kereru Depths’ pendant
The New Zealand Wood Pigeon (Kereru) has similar shimmering colours to this fused glass pendant. The iridescent sheen to the blue and grey dichroic glass changes when it catches the light. This pendant was fired twice in a microwave kiln to get the perfect round shape set off by a gunmetal leaf bail.
‘Wild Horses‘ pendant
The orange and brown frit shapes on this fused glass pendant remind me of Wild Horses running across the fields in New Zealand. We found these horses on a drive on the East Coast of the North Island after visiting the Art Deco town of Napier. It is lovely to see the pony running free.
Dragonfly on wooden table
‘Dragonfly Shimmer’ eyeglass chain
This Eyeglass chain is inspired by this dragonfly seen on a picnic table in New Zealand. The shimmer in the dragonfly wings is reflected in the beads as they catch the light. This was at the start of the walk around Lake Matheson near Fox Glacier in New Zealand.
Bees on pink asters
‘Pink Aster’ eyeglass chain
This makes me reminisce about getting a photo of this bee alighting on these pink Alpine Aster flowers in New Zealand.I have always liked the challenge of taking a photo of a bumblebee in perfect focus. Any trip to New Zealand has the added pleasure of taking photos of the stunning scenery.
Butterfly, Mount Cook, New Zealand
‘Amber Flight’ eyeglass chain SOLD
This eyeglass chain is inspired by this moth from Mount Cook National Park in New Zealand. The Amber and yellow Czech Fire Polished beads set off this long necklace that is lightweight and strong. The lobster claw attachments mean you can make this into a necklace.
‘Pink Nectar‘ pendant SOLD
I love the rich colour combination of this pink flower and the bumblebee getting his breakfast. I really enjoy the challenge of taking photos of bees and have been happy with the results. This little guy was found in the Christchurch Botanic Gardens, a real favourite when I visit home. The pendant has some blue/pink sparkly dichroic colours as well as some grey shading to black. The dichroic glass is fused in a microwave kiln on a pink background with a clear glass top.
Camel near Cairo, Egypt
‘Red Vitality’ eyeglass chain SOLD
Reminiscent of the red limestones near the pyramids in Egypt, this deep red eyeglass chain gives a blend of matte and shiny glass beads. The light catches on the red and black faceted crystal beads to accessorize your frames.
